About This Lesson
Students (grades 3-6) find out about Kamala Harris's background and her election as vice president - and reflect on their own dreams for the future. Harris was the first Black woman to be selected as a vice presidential candidate on a major party ticket. Her father was raised in Jamaica. Harris, whose mother was born in India, was also the first Asian American vice presidential candidate.
